Michael Wellnitz of Cary Enrolls at Lafayette College
2015 Sep 25
Lafayette College welcomes Michael Wellnitz of Cary to the Class of 2019, the most academically powerful class in Lafayette's history. Michael is a graduate of Cary Senior High School.
Studies have begun for the 673 members of Lafayette's newest class, selected from more than 7,465 applications. The proportion of students ranking in the top 10 percent of their high school class is at an all-time high. The class includes 359 women and 314 men from 42 countries of citizenship, in addition to 31 of the 50 United States and District of Columbia.
As pioneers of Lafayette's new Connected Communities program, Michael and fellow members of the 184th class have been assigned to one of five "Commons" and will gather throughout the year for special events and speakers, compete in first-year intramural sports and host socials within their Commons and with members from other Commons.
Each Commons will develop a unique identity and members will remain affiliated with the same Commons throughout their time at Lafayette. Read about the Connected Communities commons program.
The newest group of 'Pards will launch their lives at Lafayette guided by the spirit of the Marquis de Lafayette's motto, "Cur Non" ("Why not?"). It means anything is possible here. View time-lapse video Welcome, 184th Class.
